Johannes “Joe” Hoogerwerf

Johannes “Joe” Hoogerwerf, age 82, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 26, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arien and Ann Hoogerwerf; sister, Adriana Kommer; brothers-in-law, Andrew Kommer Jr., Eugene Fritz; and several aunts and uncles. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Judith; children, Nancy and Scott Visser, Linda Jackobs, John and Connie Hoogerwerf; grandchildren, Trisha and Dave Lewis, Brandon Comstock and his fiancé Colby Foreman, Michael and Trisha Hoogerwerf, Joey Hoogerwerf; sister, Joanne Fritz; brother, Ronald and Marlena Hoogerwerf; brother-in-law, Ronald and Sharon DeYoung; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. Joe enjoyed working in his yard and also feeding animals, especially the many deer that would come into the yard. Cremation has taken place, and the family plans on celebrating Joe’s life later 2021.
