Joey William Baker

Joey William Baker, age 56, of Kentwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Baker; brother, Terry Thompson; step-brothers, Roy Davis Baker, John Watson Baker. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Christine Baker; son, Tyler Baker; mother, Mae Baker; brothers, Ron Thompson; step-brothers, Paul Baker, Pete and Sandy Baker; sister-in-law, Nancy Thompson; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating.  Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the funeral home, and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice.
