
Joe Bernard Rotman, age 92, of Allendale was called home to be with his Savior on Friday, April 26, 2019. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who treasured his time with family, playing cards and fishing. Joe could also be found in his garden that he loved. He was the owner of Joe's Lawn and Garden John Deere dealership. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma (Veldink); infant twin sons; grandson, Ross Van De Weg; and son-in-law, Thomas Van De Weg. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth (Hinken); children, Shirley Van De Weg, Karen and Herb Van Timmeren, Bernard and Deborah Rotman, Norene and Ken Knoper Jr., Jerry and Debra Rotman; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ken Rotman; several nieces and nephews. He will also be lovingly remembered by Ruth’s children, Gail and Bert Wories, Karen and Jim Brinks, Gary and Laurie Hinken, Beth and Pete Miedema, Duane and Lori Hinken; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at First Christian Reformed Church, 5734 Country View Drive, Allendale, with Rev. Bruce Persenaire officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, April 30, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale), 6651 Scott Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Love INC or Spectrum Health Foundation - Hospice.
