Scalabrino (Bulgarella), JoAnn Mrs. JoAnn Scalabrino, aged 67, of Wyoming, finally won her battle with several health problems. On May 15, 2014, JoAnn joined her father, Joe and brother, Frank in heaven. JoAnn was born on March 24, 1947 to Joe and Esther (Monterusso) Bulgarella in Grand Rapids and has been a life-long resident of the area. As a child, she attended Grand Rapids Catholic Central and spent one year at Grand Rapids Junior College. On June 13, 1970, she married John Scalabrino and their son Brian was born on May 17, 1973. JoAnn was employed at Spartan Stores. She was an avid collector of just about anything and an excellent homemaker. She loved ceramics and fishing. JoAnn will be greatly missed by her husband of 43 years, John; son, Brian and Jessica (Fuller) Scalabrino; her beautiful granddaughters, Evelyn and Lillian; mother, Esther Bulgarella; three nieces and one nephew along with sister-in-law, Myrna Bulgarella who all live in Alabama; and several great-nieces and great-nephews also of Alabama. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Fr. Phil Shangraw presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a vigil at 6:30 pm.
