Joan Vanden Hoek

Joan Elizabeth Vanden Hoek, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Pastor Gerald Vander Lugt; her second husband of 25 years, Rev. Julius Vanden Hoek; her son, Jim Vander Lugt; her brother, Leon Garvelink; her in-laws, Rev. Herbert (Ginny) Vander Lugt, Peter (Doris) Vander Lugt, Leonard (Marian) Vander Lugt, Cornelius Vander Lugt, Rev. John (Grada) Vander Lugt, Tunis (Ethel) Vander Lugt; and her step sister-in-law, Hildred Einfeld. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Joan) Vander Lugt; daughters, Sheryl (Robert) Kehr, Debra (Mark) Eisenga; daughter-in-law, Theresa Vander Lugt; stepchildren, Timothy (Carol) Vanden Hoek, Bennet Vanden Hoek, Jillayne (Robert) Warners, Jewel (Brian) Westphalen; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Ruth) Garvelink; sister, Sandra (Rich) Honholt; brother-in-law, Fred Vander Lugt; step in-laws, Rev. Frank Einfeld, Calvin (Mille) Vanden Hoek, Kenneth (Arlene) Vanden Hoek, Elaine (Don) Vanden Hoek; and several nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park.
