
Joan Eveline Neuman, age 93, of Grandville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who especially treasured her grandchildren and found great joy in watching them grow. Joan loved spending time at Big Star Lake, going for walks, and visiting with her neighbors. She was also a talented and creative woman who enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, and painting. Joan graduated from Godwin High School in 1949 and, two years later, married the love of her life, Royal “Charlie” Neuman, in 1951. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Royal “Charlie” Neuman; her brother, Jack O’Brien; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Susan Neuman; grandchildren, Nicole Neuman, Colin and Elizabeth Neuman, and Nathan Neuman; sister-in-law, Vicky Neuman; special niece, Kim and Roland Portman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and neighborhood friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 3, at MKD Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. The burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, October 2, from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
