Jim Mys

Jim Mys, age 63, of Grandville, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marv and Angie Mys; and sister, Carolee Miliusis. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Rochelle (Geoff) Kuyper, Samantha (Matt) Byl, Austin (Kaylee) Mys; grandchildren, Grant, Abby, and Emilia Kuyper, Logan and Jude Byl; the mothers of his children, Anne Wallis, and Machael Straley; brother, Steve (Audra) Mys; brother-in-law, Bob Miliusis; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim will be remembered for his deep love for his five grandchildren and family, dune buggying up at Silver Lake, his love of music, playing guitar, being a hard worker, and being able to fix anything. At the age of 21, Jim began building Jim Mys Trucking and also enjoyed negotiating real estate deals. A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
