Jesse Ryan Kiel

Jesse Ryan Kiel, age 30, of Jenison left his earthly body and gained a heavenly one on Monday, September 18, 2023. Even through a long, difficult cancer journey, he touched many lives. Jesse was blessed with a big heart for others and a sense of humor that brought a smile to everyone who knew him. He had many hobbies, including disc golf and gaming, and was always surrounded by music. He graduated from Unity Christian High School and Grand Valley State University and worked at SoundOff Signal as a customer service representative.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Haijo Kiel and Ed Westdorp. Jesse will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Carl and Sandy Kiel; the love of his life, Virginia Campbell; his siblings, Haijo and Lacy Kiel, Sara and Rick VanIttersum, Jenna and Mark Mossner. He was a fun uncle to Isabelle Kiel, Chloe and James VanIttersum. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Hermina Kiel and Lillian Westdorp. He will also be remembered by his loyal group of lifelong friends and his beloved dog, Bandit.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Fairway Christian Reformed Church, 1165 44th Street in Jenison with Pastor Dave DenHaan officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and from 3:00-3:45 pm prior to the service at church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to Child Evangelism Shoreline Chapter or MSUD Family Support Group.
