Jerry Hommerson

Jerry Hommerson, aged 79, of Jenison, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carol. Jerry was the former owner of Parkside Foods in Grand Rapids for many years until he retired.  He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Larry and Michele Hommerson, Dave Hommerson, Steve Hommerson, Shari and Joe Rondeau; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Grimm, Etta Robrahn, Judy and Fred Carlon; brother, Tom and Margaret Hommerson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Pam Vandenberg; special friend, Frank Vander Meer; several nieces and nephews. At Jerry’s request, cremation has taken place.  A memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
