Jerry Essenburg

Jerry Allen Essenburg, age 83, of Jenison, was received into the arms of Jesus on Thursday December 4, 2025. Jerry was an active member and volunteer at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Curt Timmerman; and brother-in-law, Ken Haveman. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Carol Essenburg; children, Douglas Essenburg, Joy Timmerman, Julie and David Miedema; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ashley and John Hanrahan (Lucie, Henry, Elodie); Richard and Cobie Miedema (Rory), Mitchell and Anna Miedema (Alice, Millie), Trenton Miedema; sisters and brother, Ruth and Jim Sikkema, Arlyn and Bev Essenburg, Isla Haveman; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, at  Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Jenison Christian School.
