April 24, 1978 ~
January 9, 2022

On Sunday Jan 9, 2022, the world lost a kind and wonderful man. Jeffrey Bernard Grey, better known to all as JB Grey, husband, father, brother, son and friend. JB was fervent in his faith having received Christ as his personal Savior and is now enjoying the hope of all believers. He is seeing Jesus face to face. JB was born April 24, 1978. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Stacy Joy (Brood) Grey; his children, Nolan (13) and Nora (10); his mother and father, Jeffrey and Maureen Grey; his two brothers, Daniel (Sarah) Grey, and Joseph (Jessica) Grey; Stacy’s mother and father, Kathy and Scott Brood; Stacy’s siblings, Rebecca (Chris) Postma, and Josh (Katie) Brood; many special nieces and nephews: Josh, Emily, Trenton Postma, Anna, Mary, and Olivia Grey, Jack, and Cameron Grey, Josiah, Ezra, and Maggie Brood; special aunts, Mary Beth (Java) Grey -Lughod, Katie Proben, and Gina Wood; and uncle, Pat Wood; many special cousins: Jessica, Willow, Zhouli, and David to only name only a few. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents and a dear cousin, Joseph.

JB’s life was blessed in so many ways. He had a wonderfully active youth, played all sports at a high level, and succeeded at his studies. While a senior at Grand Valley, brain cancer struck. He never complained, he never uttered “Why me?”. The brain tumor changed his life, giving him determined focus and drive. He never lost his subtle and rich sense of humor. JB became a PE Teacher at WMAES to start his career and that is where he met and fell in love with Stacy. He was then blessed to teach with his unassuming energy and zeal at San Juan Diego Academy, where he worked until the end of October. He loved working with children. Family activities were his greatest love. Stacy and JB loved attending Nolan and Nora’s games. JB loved fishing, golfing, reffing soccer, traveling with family, and watching sports with Nolan, especially MSU games. His love for his family was only matched by his love for Jesus Christ.

JB has touched so many people in his meaningful life. We want to capture some memories for his children so there will be opportunities to write a card sharing a memory, a story, a fun experience, or a favorite quality you saw or experienced in JB. There will be cards and baskets available at both the visitation and the memorial service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Chapel Pointe, 3350 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, with Pastor Jim Jeffery officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 3-5 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the gofundme (https://tinyurl.com/yk8x4a6v) or the family education fund through Fidelity Investments, 183 College Avenue Holland, MI 49423 (put Stacy Grey in Memo line).
