Jeanne Althea (Knight) Behrens, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2025.
Jeanne was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 29, 1948, to Charles E. “Fuzz” and Dorothea E. (VanZoeren) Knight. Jeanne’s greatest joy in life was her role as a mother and grandmother - a title she held with immense pride and deep affection. She was devoted to her family, loved cooking, gatherings, and creating cherished memories with her family and friends.
Jeanne graduated from South High School in 1966. She went on to have a 40-year career working for various businesses. She retired from UPS after more than 20 years of dedicated service, a career of which she was deeply proud. After retirement, she continued helping others by providing transportation to individuals with disabilities. In her free time, Jeanne enjoyed golfing and bowling, participating in both for many years and forming lifelong friendships along the way.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Bonnie Lynn.
Jeanne will be dearly missed by her daughters, Deborah Glupker (Andy Pope), Teresa (Derek) Barresi, Jennifer Points; grandchildren, Shayna Heydenburg, Alexis Marckini, Trevor (Amelia) Glupker, Drake Mulder; great-grandchildren, Logan and Scarlett Zavitz, Dallas and Jax Marckini, Lucian and Kaden Glupker; siblings, Dennis (Doris) Knight, Marjorie (Lyle) Overton, Patty (Julian) Arizola; several nieces, a nephew, and cousins - each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Though we are heartbroken by her passing, we rejoice in knowing she is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior. She is free from pain, at peace and reunited with loved ones she missed so much. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness lives on in those who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Rose Garden Assisted Living and Emmanuel Hospice for the years of love, kindness, and compassionate care they provided.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, August 10 from 4-6 pm at the funeral home or on Monday from 10-11 am prior to the service. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Eleazar Lopez officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
