Jeanette (TerHorst) Nagelkirk, 85, of Allendale, joined her Heavenly Father on June 23, 2016 at her home. Jeanette is now breathing easily, walking briskly, and maybe even cleaning her new home. Jeanette was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Feenstra; brothers, Alvin TerHorst, Herman TerHorst, Kenneth TerHorst; brothers-in-law, Melvin Nagelkirk, Dennis Nagelkirk, Bob Meeuwsen and George Lubben. Jeanette leaves behind her husband of almost 63 years, Sherwin; her children and grandchildren, Margaret Feenstra of Allendale (Erin and Brad Ensing, Janet and Thad Eno, Lauren and Josh VanderMolen, Tara and Cameron Kuperus), Gladys and Dr. Rick DeBruyne of CA (Mindy and Bryson White, Derrick and Rosy DeBruyne), Morris and Marilyn Nagelkirk of Allendale (Spencer, Casey, Emma), Mary and Chad Sall of Allendale (Chelsey and fiancé Drew Billin, Evan, Mitchell); 11 almost 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Gracile and Bob Boehm, Eleanor and Don Beute, Jerold and Jan TerHorst, Joyce and Ben Sheaffer and siblings-in-law, Dorothy TerHorst, Judy TerHorst, Lois TerHorst, Pauline Meeuwsen, Goldie Lubben, Phyllis Hommerson, Ardith and Don VanderSchaaf, Marcia and Joe Wiggers and Terry and Deb Nagelkirk. Jeanette was an active member of the Ottawa Reformed Church and for many years was a “cook” at Allendale Public School. The last few years when her mobility was limited, she still managed at times to bake her goodies, make potato salad and crochet beautiful blankets for each new great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday 11 am at Ottawa Reformed Church, 11390 Stanton Rd, West Olive with Rev. Paul Wernlund officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Allendale Christian School Expansion Fund or Unity Christian High School. Many of Jeanette’s grandchildren graduated from these schools and her great grandchildren are now students.
