Jaylen “Jay” D. Wulfsen, age 64, of Comstock Park, was called home to heaven on Friday, May 5, 2017. Jay was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and brother who treasured his family. He had a generous heart and always put others before himself. Jay had a love for his pets, enjoyed painting, and was always cheering on his Detroit Tigers. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tena Wulfsen; brothers- in-law, Dan Nitz, and Charles Haywood. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Barbara (Pierson); children, Kimberly and Fred Lynch, Nathan and Shana Wulfsen, Phillip Wulfsen, Matthew and Sarah Wulfsen; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Wilma Nyburg, Glenda and Ken Van Doeselaar, Janice and Robert Tompkins, John and Carol Wulfsen, Jolene and Jack Emaus; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee and Rosemary Pierson, Carol Pierson, Peggy and Bill McKellar, Patricia and Mike Orcasitas, JoAnn Sikkes; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW., with Pastor Mark Hertstein officiating. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
