Jay J Timmer

Jay J Timmer, age 96, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Fannie Timmer; an infant son; great granddaughter, Grace Dyksterhouse. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Marie; children, Ken (Phyllis) Timmer of Ann Arbor, MI, and Mary (Don) Dyksterhouse of Apex, NC; 6 grandchildren, Jeff (Carolyn) Timmer of Grand Rapids, Lisa (Tim) Alles of Grand Rapids, Andy (Kelly) Dyksterhouse, Catherine (Chris) Foca of Mosely, VA, Gary (Kathryn) Dyksterhouse of Greenwood, MS, Jimmy (Kate) Dyksterhouse of Charlotte, NC; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Harold (Rosemary) Timmer. Jay was a World War II veteran serving in the China-Burma-India Theater from 1942-1945. He retired after forty plus years with Hoekstra Truck Equipment Co. Jay served faithfully on numerous church, school, and organization boards. Jay was a man of meticulous organization and strong conviction. He was highly sought after for his counsel and advice. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, at Sunset Manor, 725 Baldwin Street, Jenison with Rev. Pete Byma officiating. Interment Fairplains Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at Sunset Manor.
