Sharon Boerema

Sharon K. Boerema, age 81, of Byron Center, entered her heavenly home and was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, June 18, 2026. 

Sharon was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who cherished the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed shopping and had a talent for finding the perfect outfit or jewelry accessory. Sharon was incredibly creative and enjoyed quilting, knitting, painting, and stamping, always keeping her hands busy with a new project.

She loved attending family parties and picnics, where she could gather with those she loved most. Sharon also had a deep appreciation for Southern Gospel music and enjoyed attending concerts whenever she had the opportunity. An adventurous traveler, Sharon loved exploring the United States and was proud to have visited all 50 states. She also enjoyed taking cruises and creating lasting memories through her travels.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Edith Boerema. She is survived by her brothers, Curtis and Beverly Boerema, Scott and Brenda Boerema; nieces and nephews, Shandra and Jeff Baker, Travis and Carri Boerema, Sheri and Scott Groenke, Anna and Timothy Karel, Rebecca and Andrew Mulder, Cody and Jennifer Boerema. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Grandville Bible Church, 4122 44th St. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Mike Hasper officiating. The burial will be held at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, June 26, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville. An additional visitation will be held on Saturday from noon-1 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to World Vision
