
Janice Henrietta Meekhof, age 93, went home to be with her Lord in the early morning of Thursday, June 15, 2023. Janice is survived by her children, Kathleen (Nyquist) and Robert Schellenberg, Karen (Nyquist) and Jack Lutke; grandchildren, Robyn (Jeremy) Ewalt, Candace (Brent) Nienhuis, Carmen (Joshua) Schreiber, Jessica (Elijah) O’Brien, Robert Schellenberg III, and Jillian Schellenberg; stepchildren, Arlan and Barbara Meekhof, Duwayne Meekhof, MariAnne and Greg Vogelaar; nine step grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, James Glashower, Joel and Joyce Glashower, Jerry and Cheryl Glashower; and her many nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her 11 great-grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Nyquist in 1997; second husband, Sidney Meekhof in 2018; parents, Sidney and Katherine Glashower; stepdaughter, Eva Meekhof; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Margaret Glashower; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Glashower (Joel). Janice was a faithful follower of her Lord Jesus Christ and committed everything she did to serving Him. An accomplished singer, pianist, and organist, Jan was known for her extraordinary mezzo soprano voice as a soloist and church choir member for over 80 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched so many lives within her community by her love, generosity, and grace in showing Christ’s love to whomever she met. A multi-talented woman, Janice was an excellent seamstress, crafter, quilter, and needlework aficionado who also loved gardening. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Rusk Christian Reformed Church, 10354 92nd Ave., Allendale with Pastor Mark Neymeiyer officiating. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 5-8 pm at Rusk CRC. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Borculo Christian School or Unity Christian School.
