James Tibbe

James Tibbe, age 92 of Wyoming, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Jean Tibbe, brothers Gerrit and William. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorothy Simon–Tibbe; step-children, Barbara Ann and Dan Grinwis, Jim R. and Kendra Simon, Ron J. and Deb Simon, Joe A. and Denise Simon, Mike D. and Marina Simon; step-foster children, Deb and Roger Hardy, Sandy and Dave Miller, Cori and Gabriella Craciunescu; 19 step and step-foster grandchildren; 40 step and step-foster great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita Sheren, Helen Deveneau, Arnold and Faye Wurm, Agnes and Ron Bott; many nieces and nephews. Jim valiantly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He was a kind, compassionate, loving man, who took good care of his wife. He loved to tell stories about Rags, the dog, who got his name from the air base mechanics wiping their hands on him. Jim was a dedicated employee at Michigan CAT for 33 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Friday at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Fr. Mike Alber presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a vigil service at 7:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Oasis of Hope Center.
