
James “Jim” Richard Uhl, aged 78, passed away on January 2, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jim was born on July 27, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, where he spent his formative years. He went on to graduate from Western Michigan University with a BA and MA, and later became a controller at B&A Development. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work and dedication. Although he was known to have a “Grumpy” demeanor, Jim was very much a loving, devoted family man. In his free time, Jim enjoyed playing golf, collecting coins, relaxing with his lap dog, Calvin, watching sports, and listening to music. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (Themer) Uhl and Fred Uhl. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, June; his children: Melanie Ziemba, Michelle (Kevin) Kellstrom, and J. Michael (fiancée Christy) Uhl; his grandchildren: Avery, Caden, Paige, Meghan, Alexis, and James; and his sister Denise (John) Scrudato. Jim’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming.
