James McElhaney

James Brian McElhaney, age 61, of Wyoming, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Paula; daughter, Elizabeth and Christian Worsley; grandson, Declan James Worsley; sister, Denean and Scott Kolenda; mom, Cheryl McElhaney; niece and nephew; and his pets, Grace and Georgie. James was preceded in death by his dad, Raymond McElhaney. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years as a Technical Sergeant. While in the Air Force he earned the Good Conduct Medal and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Medal. James loved watching Star Trek and going kayaking, fishing, and camping. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 1-2 pm prior to the start of the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Legion Post 28 in Grand Haven or to the VFW Post 2326 in Grand Haven.
