James M. Warner

James M. Warner, age 90, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord and his beloved wife, Sylvia on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. He proudly served his country in WWII in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Normandy Invasion and the European Campaign. James retired from St. Mary’s Hospital, after 27 years of faithful service in the maintenance department. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. James loved spending time with his family and he faithfully attended all of his grandchildren’s activities. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Sylvia; sons, Michael Warner and David Warner; daughter-in-law, Barb Warner; brother, Kenneth Warner; sisters, Betty Larabell, Maxine Hendrick. He is survived by his children, Diane and Jim Madsen, Sharon and Kevin Wohlford, Deb and Carl Rosekopf; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and beloved dog, Misty. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Rev. Lee Buer officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a procession to Rosedale Memorial Park for a graveside service with military honors. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Holland.
