James Jolliffe

James Dale Jolliffe, age 85, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 28, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Frances Jolliffe; first wife, Audrey (Stevenson); brother, William Jolliffe, Jr. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jacquelyn “Jackie,” of 16 years; children, Denise and Darryl Barkel, Diane Jolliffe, Deb and Ken Skonecki, Donald and Michelle Jolliffe, Deb and Ron Krause, Suzanna Piniarski and Dale Holmes, Connie Boersma; siblings, Richard and Esther Jolliffe, Fred Jolliffe, Robert and Noreen Jolliffe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Shirley Howard, RuthAnne Rogers, Ron and Cheryl Blouw, Lori Woods and Brian Oaks, Tom and Linda Blouw, Cheryl and Mike Stone; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Jim was an icon in the snowmobile industry. He was the inventor of snowmobile studs and high-performance snowmobile clutches. Jim was always inventing new ways to improve machines, particularly snowmobiles, and was inducted in the Snowmobile Hall of Fame in 2001. He was respected in the machining industry for his honesty, inventions, and entrepreneurialism. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Kelloggsville Church, 610 52nd Street SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Ron Fynewever officiating. Inurnment at Norwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Kelloggsville Church from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
