James C. Koetje

James Koetje, age 90, of Allendale, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 20 years, Carol; children, Jeff (Joan) Koetje, and Debra Koetje; stepdaughter, Karen (Kurt) Kemme; grandchildren, Cody Koetje, Casey Risner, Adam, Darcie, Erin Koetje, Karli Kemme, Kayleigh (Brandon) Miller, and Karissa Kemme; siblings, Tom (Norma) Koetje and Angie Troost. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn; son, Bruce; stepson, Doug Postma; brothers and sisters, Margaret Huttenga, Nell Troost, Jay, Henry, and Ken Koetje. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. James retired from Parker Motor Freight after 38 years. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. with Rev. Ken Kruithoff officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 9:30 - 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
