James Arthur Harpe Jr.

James Harpe, age 77, of Comstock Park, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 17, 2023. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and cherished the memories he had with his family. He graduated from Indiana University and eventually found his passion in real estate where he founded his own company, J Harpe Realty, a family business, but Jim found his greatest joy in his faith and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ida Harpe. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, of 44 years, Jan Harpe; children, Steve and Krystine Harpe, Kim and Ernesto Rodriguez; grandchildren, Isabelle, Gabby, Leo, Niko, and James; sister, Dody and Bill Evans; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Mary Ann Nini, Mark and Carol Nini, Mary Anne and Rob Sulkey; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20 at 11 am at Calvary Church, 707 East Beltline Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Mi 49525 with Pastor Josh Warren officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-5 pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont and Monday 10-11 am at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Samaritan’s Purse or Van Andel Institute Neurodegenerative Science Research Program.
