James Alvin Rittenhouse, Sr.

James Alvin Rittenhouse, Sr., age 82, of Grand Rapids went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Loretta Rittenhouse; father-in-law, Arnold McKellar and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lorraine and George Durst; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Clyde and Kay Peacock; Ruth Jane Millering. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Karol; children, James Jr. and Debbie Rittenhouse, Dawn and Alex Corona; grandchildren, Matthew and Karlie Rittenhouse, Bradley and Merrie Rittenhouse, Emily Corona and Jared Briolat, Jamie and Eric Fraticelli, Kathryn Corona, Junior Corona, Kazan Corona; great grandchildren, Marissa Buskard, Logan Rittenhouse, Landon Rittenhouse, Levi Rittenhouse, Kristina Corona, Josie Fraticelli, Benny Fraticelli; brother, Douglas and Lynne Rittenhouse; sister, Carla and Alex Morel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Diane Durst, Danny and Becky Durst, Larry Millering; many nieces and nephews. Jim retired from Light Metals Corporation after 41 years of faithful service. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, dancing and tinkering with anything mechanical or electrical. His greatest joy came from being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, June 4, 2025  at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont, with Rev. Brian Blum officiating.  Burial will be held at Blythfield Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, June 3 from 4-7 pm and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
