The world became brighter on March 26, 2003, the day Jalen Isaiah May was born. At age 21, he went to his heavenly home unexpectedly on Friday, March 7, 2025 doing what he loved, riding his R1 bike. He graduated from East Kentwood High School. Jalen was a gifted mechanic and enjoyed fixing all types of cars and bikes starting with many tools he received from his grandfather. He later received a scholarship from the Trevon Potter Foundation to assist him in his mechanical career. He was an adventurous person and loved riding bikes with the “Street Pizza” Crew and was also a member of Street Mafia car club. He was a loving and compassionate man who had a silly sense of humor. He loved spending time on the family farm with his grandparents and cousins riding tractors and four wheelers, camping, and being in nature. He loved family traditions and events and was very sentimental with his family memorabilia. Most of all, he was a protective brother and son taking great care of those he loved.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Chris May, Dawn May; brothers and sister: CJ Smith, Christopher May, Zoe May; grandparents: Ron and Donna Force, Harry and Beverly May; aunts and uncles: Tammy (Brian) BeGole, Kurt (Sherry) Force, Nikki May, Damon May; many godfamily, cousins, and friends, and his family pet, Stella. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances May.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St., Hudsonville, 49426 with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.
