Jack W. Thomas

Jack W. Thomas, age 89, of Grandville, joined his wife in heaven on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Jack was born in Detroit to John and Doris Thomas on July 16, 1926.  The family moved to Flint, where he grew up and attended high school. He was a very hard working man from a very early age.  The family moved to Grand Rapids in 1947 where Jack worked in the furniture business for the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen; son, David; daughter-in-law, Peggy; great grandson, Lance; and special friend, Beverly Wisniewski. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, James (Susan) Thomas of AZ, Rodney (Gaila) Thomas of Allendale, MI, Shelley (Paul) Lundquist of Kent City, MI; 7 grandchildren, Dawn, James, Scott, Jason, Jonathan, Jacqueline, Phillip; 8 great grandchildren, Ryan, Elizabeth, Jamie, Jaye, Kyle, Grant, Maddie, Parker; 1 great great grandchild, Lilliana; brother, Ralph (June) Thomas of AL; sisters, Agnes (Bill) Bechels of Montrose, MI, Mary of Flint, MI; half brother, Richard Brewer of Flint, MI; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Frank) Hambicki of AZ; brothers-in-law, Donald (Beverly) Lowell of Flint, MI, Marvin (Lynn) Lowell of Rockford, MI; sisters-in-law, Trudy Lowell, Dodie Lowell of Oscoda, MI; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Rosedale Memorial Park Chapel, 0-50 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
