Karyn Helder

Karyn Ruth Helder, age 78, of Jenison, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Karyn loved crafting, sewing and playing and teaching piano. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time at Sandy Pines and Florida. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Robert Helder; children: Paul and Lorrie Helder, Doug and Robin Helder, Janna and Jeremy Berens; grandchildren: Gabrielle (Austen) Reno, Kya Kerridge, Jackson Helder, Gabe Helder, Nina Helder, Eli Berens, Isaac Berens; siblings: David (Linda) Tuls, Judy (David) Rozema; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosemary Hutson, Kathy (Virgil) Gulker, Christy (Terry) Pollard; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Janet Tuls; brothers-in-law, Ron Hutson, Larry Helder. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, with Rev. Matt Palsrok officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
