Ivan Elzinga

Ivan Jay Elzinga, age 76, of Tallmadge Twp., passed into Glory on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Ivan retired from GE Aviation as a Senior Aerospace Engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna Elzinga, and his brother, Dale Elzinga. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Joanne; his children and grandchildren, Janice Elzinga, Barbara Elzinga (Ilse, Serina, Ameena and her daughter Essence, and Malikai Harrington), Timothy and Heidi Elzinga (Elizabeth, Sarah, Rebecca), Daniel and Carrie Elzinga (Henry, Alexander), Jeffrey and Jacquelyn Elzinga (Kaden, Ariana, Laelle); sisters and brothers, Carol and Dave Tanis, Linda Elzinga, Kathy Erins, Robert and Vicki Elzinga, Kenneth Elzinga; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol Mann, Richard and Connie Hoolsema, Gary and Linda Hoolsema, Sandra and Bryan Laug, Mary and Robert Stevens, Sally and Chip VanderArk, Darrel Hoolsema, Kevin Hoolsema, Patricia Hoolsema, Randy and Jennie Hoolsema, Jackie and Ken Towne, Roger Kyle Hoolsema; and many nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday, September 25 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice Trillium Woods.
