Ismael “Papo” Martinez

Ismael “Papo” Martinez, Jr., age 52, of Grand Rapids went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Ismael Martinez, Sr.; nephew, Carlos Martinez. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Amalia; siblings, Samuel, David, Luis, and Lisa; many nieces and nephews; 2 great-nephews; extended family and friends. Papo was a hard worker as a chef and communication cable installer. He was a reliable worker and friend who was always there for anyone who needed his help. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 3138 Birchwood Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, 49548 with Rev. Jose Luis Quintana celebrant. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday at church from 10am until the time of the Mass. There will be a luncheon at Morenas Event Venue, 4470 Breton Road SE, Kentwood, from 1-4pm following the service.
