Hugo Arthur Smith

Hugo Arthur Smith, aged 82 of Wyoming, was called to his heavenly home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine VanAntwerp. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine; children, Keith (Joy) Smith, Nancy Smith, Susan (Robert) Smith; grandchildren, Jacob, Christopher (Ashley), Travis (Becky); four great-grandchildren; special kitty, Sara; brother, Ken (Barb) Smith; sister, Carol Woodley; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Margie (Larry) Dornbos, Joan Horrigan, Shirley Vegt, Mary (Larry) Horrigan, and Patricia Lemson. Hugo “Art” proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard during the Korean War. He was a dedicated, third generation Steelcase employee for 40 years. He was a devoted, loving family man who enjoyed golf and fishing at the cottage. Funeral services for Hugo will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Rev. Caleb Walcott officiating. Interment Chippewa Lake Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
