Hugh Claver

Hugh R.S. Claver, age 69, of Zeeland, Michigan, passed away in Holland, Michigan on July 10, 2024. Hugh was born in Los Angeles, California to Randall Willard Claver and Louise (Schowe) Claver on November 3, 1954. He is survived by his brother, Father Karl Claver, and sister, Lianne Claver. He was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Allendale. Hugh worked at Western Michigan Fleet Parts in Zeeland for many years and retired in 2007. 

In retirement, Hugh loved traveling, fishing, hunting, and was an avid collector. He loved volunteering, specifically with the Knights of Columbus. Nothing gave Hugh more enjoyment than spending time with his friends and family. Hugh was a kind, giving, gentle soul who was known among his friends for his pico salsa!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 11352 Brown St., Allendale. Burial will take place at Visitation Catholic Church Cemetery in Dorr, MI. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, July 14 from 5-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. with a Rosary at 7 pm. An additional hour of visitation will be held at the church prior to the service.
