Howell Francis Newton

Howell Francis Newton, age 99, of Alto was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 26, 2020. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Lillian; his sons, Bruce and Keith; and his great grandson, Mac; his siblings; Gary Newton, Vernon Newton, Lyle Newton, Ruby Nanasy, and Ora Oliver. He will be lovingly remembered by his second wife, Kathleen Copyeyon, whom he married on September 7, 1996; his children, Diane (Marv) Lancaster, and Barbara (Paul) Hirschy; his daughter-in-laws, Jeanne and Terry Newton; grandchildren, Chris (Kari) Newton, Debbie (Mike) Huntley, Matt (Ronne) Lancaster, Michelle (Troy) Hauch, Melissa (David) Bradley, Trevor (Nicole) Newton, Linsey Newton, Katie (Tim) Cunningham, Amber (Varun) Kaushik, Heather (Nathan) Gonzalez, Jason (Ali) Hirschy; 32 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Howell was a warm, loving, kind husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a dedicated employee of the General Motors Grand Rapids Stamping Plant for over 33 years. He loved farming and continued his passion for farming until he was 87 years old. Howell loved the Lord and went on many mission trips to help those in need. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, December 4th at Bowne Mennonite Cemetery, 14076 76th St., Clarksville. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Samaritan’s Purse.
