Helen Schout

Helen (Schipper) Schout, age 94, of Allendale, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 17, 2022. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lovingly cared and provided for her family. Her example of faith and love for her Lord was evident to all who knew her. Helen was a longtime member of First Christian Reformed Church in Allendale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Preston; daughter-in-law, Karen Schout; and grandson, Jason Schout. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kay Schout, Larry Schout, Gary and Dawn Schout, Darlene and Ed Diemer; grandchildren, Justin Schout, Jenny Schout, Dan Schout, Jill Quick, Nate and Becky Schout, Michelle and Tom Groenink, Melissa and Scott Anstey, Kaitlin Diemer, Travis and Abbie Diemer; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf, 6651 Scott St., Allendale, with Rev. Robert Huisman officiating. The burial will be held at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, January 20, from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Allendale Christian School.
