Helen Ilene Kersjes

Helen Ilene Kersjes, age 87, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at Trillium Faith Hospice on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen loved playing games with her friends, children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Kersjes; and brother, Gordan Slater. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, David Kersjes, Michael Kersjes M.D., Paula Kersjes, Daniel and Jill Kersjes; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 19 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Mark Sawinski officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home before services. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or Salvation Army.
