Helen Huizenga

Helen Ann Huizenga, age 97, of Grandville, passed into Glory on Sunday, November 2, 2025. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (Jeanne) Huizenga, Bonnie (Wayne) Oosterink, Patricia Huizenga, Jack (Nancy) Huizenga; grandchildren, Jim Jr. (Emily) Huizenga, Jana Huizenga, Jason (Dawn) Huizenga, Brandon (Stacy) Oosterink, Wade (Tara) Oosterink, Brett (Sarah) Oosterink, Mandi (Elias Ortega) Huizenga, Robin (Greg) Landheer; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Willard “Woody” Huizenga; and daughter-in-law, Mary Huizenga. She cherished her time playing baseball for the Grand Rapids Chics, enjoyed traveling, cooking, and baking, and most of all, treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th Ave. Hudsonville 49426 with Rev. Shawn Hulst officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 5, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to a Christian charity of one’s choice.
