
Hazel M. Coy, age 101, of Jenison, was born on December 20, 1919, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 2004; her parents, Adolph and Lyda De Koster; sisters, Julia Nyenhuis, Josephine Meiste; and brother, Edward De Koster. Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her children, Steve and MaryAnn Coy, Ric and Deb Coy, Barbara and Jon Nysse; grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa, Taylor, Tony, and Paul; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Kendall, Caden, Britton, Avery, and Lawson; and sister, Eileen Kuipers. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Hazel was a corporate executive secretary at Keeler Brass until she retired in 1979. Ken and Hazel retired in Florida for 17 years. She was a charter member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. Hazel was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and went to the 1968 World Series. Cabrera hit his 500th home run on the day she passed! A private graveside service will be held at Floral View Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jake Porter officiating. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Sunset AL East and Spectrum Health Hospice for the wonderful compassionate care given to Hazel.
