Harriet (Nee Van Ek) Guikema Stolk, age 97, began her new journey with Christ on Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was born in Wolvenga, Netherlands, and passed away peacefully in Sarasota, Florida. During her 97 years of life, she gave a courageous testimony of her faith, contributed great amounts of laughter and gave unfailing love to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Guikema; and her two sons, Henry and Louis Guikema. Surviving are her husband, Bert Stolk; her children, Judy and Jim Vander May, Jim and Sue Guikema; daughter-in-law, Connie Rietberg; stepchildren, Barb and Don Wohlgemuth, Jane and Mike Ritsema; many much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Van Ek; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 5250 Byron Center Avenue SW, Wyoming with Rev. Roger Groenboom officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and Friday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
