Harper Grace Sherlund passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her parents, Zac and Taylor Sherlund, at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDCH) on August 24, 2020.
Though her life was short her purpose was immense. She taught not only us, but the many people who followed her story, how to fight and gave us a new perspective of the world we live in. Even after multiple surgeries due to congenital heart defects she still gave to our hearts with her big gummy smile, strawberry blonde hair, and beautiful blue eyes. She also gave away her strength by the way she would clinch our fingers telling us that “everything will be ok.”
She also loved to be wrapped up in her many colorful swaddles and big bows she wore on her head and receiving the nickname “fashionista” by the nurses on the 7th floor at HDCH. Harper Grace, baby girl, we will never forget the way you loved having your head rubbed while listening to your lullaby owl.
Harper is now in the hands of Jesus and joining her great grandmother, Marian Roetman.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Congenital Heart Center at HDCH for the compassionate care they provided to Harper. Please consider a memorial contribution in her memory to the Ethan Lindberg Heart Strong Foundation.
