Harold Martin Timmer

Harold "Mart" Timmer Jr., age 76, passed away on August 12, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Born on Christmas Day in 1949 to Harold and Velma Timmer, Mart grew up a devout Christian that guided him throughout his life, including years of dedicated service to his church.

Mart loved his grandchildren dearly, taking pride in their accomplishments and always cherishing their visits. He was a loving father, and found great comfort and companionship in his dogs.  Throughout his life, Mart enjoyed simple pleasures like playing computer games, joining friends for card games, and reading. He especially loved spending peaceful time at their trailer in Ludington. He also spent many happy hours fishing and racing RC cars.

Early in his career, Mart proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter for Moline Fire Department. He later spent many years working skillfully as a tool and die maker until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Kurt Timmer, Kevin (Caroline) Timmer, and Kathy Jo (Noel) Resseguie; his grandchildren, Luke Timmer, Katelyn (Jayden) Biskner, Kayla Resseguie, and Chloe Resseguie; and his siblings, Rod (Linda) Timmer and Yvonne (Larry) Wilson.

Mart was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sherry; his parents, Harold and Velma Timmer; his brothers, Bob (Norma) Timmer and Jerry (Gladys) Timmer; and his sister, Vicki.
