Gloria Anne Kenzie

Gloria Anne Kenzie, age 84, of Kentwood, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 2, 2023 and now joins her parents in heaven. Gloria was a devoted member at her church. She was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Women’s Guild and enjoyed volunteering for church events. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, especially cardinals. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Jim Kenzie; children: Kathy and Jim Birchfield, Jackie and Allen Wampler, Michele and Jeff Bates, Angie and Craig Mulder; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Paul Schmidt; brothers and sisters: Evelyn, Paul, Richard, and Barbara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 52nd Street SE, Kentwood, with Msgr. Bill Duncan, Rev. Larry King, and Rev. Phong Pham presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday, April 11 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Hospice.
