
Esther Anne Dykstra, age 96, of Jenison, went to be with Jesus in glory on Friday, July 3, 2026. Esther graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 1948, married LaVerne Dyksta in 1953, and they were blessed with five children. Esther lived a life marked by deep faith, humble service, and unwavering devotion to her Lord and Savior. A faithful prayer warrior, she found great joy in encouraging others through prayer and sharing Christ’s love wherever she went. Throughout her life, Esther dedicated herself to serving others. She volunteered in prison ministry, faithfully ministering to those in need of hope and encouragement. She also served as a food deliverer for Sunset Manor, caring for others with kindness and compassion. Esther was devoted to her family. She treasured time with those she loved and demonstrated Christ’s love through her generosity, selflessness, and servant’s heart. Her legacy of faith, prayer, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Esther’s life was a beautiful reflection of God’s grace, and she will be deeply missed while being joyfully welcomed into the presence of her Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, LaVerne. Esther will be lovingly remembered by her children, David and Kathleen Dykstra, Kathleen and Brent VanZandbergen, Mark Dykstra, Lynda and Dan DeBoer, Dean and Dinorah Dykstra; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jill and Brian Driesenga (Elijah, Shiloh, Jonah, Moriah, Josiah), Tracy and Andrew Passmore (Dakota, Everett, Tarin), Chris and Bailey Dykstra (Ayden, Asher, Amelia), Katie and Kraig Kuipers (Avery, Cole, Anabelle, Cade), Jenni and Brad Gamby (Brayden, Ashlyn, Colten), Laura and Joel Nysse (Drew, Beau, Myles, Aly), Nicole and Luke Perrin, Michael Dykstra, William Dykstra, Lucas Dykstra; brother-in-law, Robert Dykstra. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St. Hudsonville with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, July 7 from 3-6 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Crossroads Prison Ministries or Bible League International.
