
Gilbert Monsalvo, age 68, of Grand Rapids, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Gilbert Monsalvo Jr., Jennifer (Jason) Monsalvo, Natalie (Jesus) Monsalvo, Kandice (Brandon) Monsalvo, Samantha (Isaac) Monsalvo, Michael (Salliela) Monsalvo; grandchildren, Gabriel, Aurelia, Analisia, Juan, Ariana, Jesse, Marisela, Jesus Jr., Daniel, Juliana, Brandon Jr., Jazlyn, Janisa, Alana, Opal, Levi, David, Karolyna, and Salliela; great grandchildren, Isabella and Eliseo; siblings, Natividad (Lucille) Monsalvo III, Linda Sanchez, Debbie (David) Paiz, John (Melissa) Monsalvo; his wife, Tammy Monsalvo; aunt and uncle, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gilbert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Blas and Alexandra Fernandez; parents, Natividad and Gladys Monsalvo; son, Antonio Monsalvo; two stillborn babies; five stillborn grandchildren; sister, Nancy Feliciano; nephew, Richard Monsalvo. He was a hardworking and loving man. Gilbert loved fishing, had a new found love for traveling, and loved his family dearly. Gilbert could always be seen riding his scooter. Gilbert will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker, 225 32nd Street SW, Wyoming, with Father Jose Luis Quintana officiating. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, October 7, from 12-2 pm and 6-8 pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. Wyoming, as well as one hour prior to the start of the service at church.
