Gertrude Baird

Gertrude Baird, age 95, formerly of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2021. She was an employee of Meijer for many years. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bruce; son, Steve Smith; son-in-law, Roger Ward; and grandson, Matthew Smith. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her children, Carol (John) Stuive, Linda Ward, Frank (Deb) Smith, Don (Pam) Smith, Dale Smith, Terry (Kate) Smith; stepchildren, Donald Baird, Larry (Michele) Baird, Paula (Gerald) Mouthaan, Debora Baird, Lisa (Elden) VanDyken, Kimberly (Tami) Holladay; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Seif; and brother-in-law, Leonard Vander Jagt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Lee Street Christian Reformed Church, 1261 Lee Street SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Kent Rottman officiating. Entombment will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, September 1, from 7-9 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation or Lee Street Christian Reformed Church.
