Gerrit J.  Scholten

Gerrit J. Scholten SCHOLTEN:  Gerrit J. Scholten, age 86, of Jenison, went to his Heavenly Home on Sunday , October 30, 2011.  Gerrit was born and raised in Lucas, Michigan until moving to Grand Rapids to work for Keeler Brass, retiring after 42 years of faithful service.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Connie; children, Jerry Scholten, Sue and Dan Wierenga; grandchildren, Jennifer Wierenga and fiancé, Andy Boluyt, Joshua Wierenga; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Elsa Scholten; sister, JoAnn DeKoster; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Steve Scholten, Jean VanVolkinburg, Mary and Don Kooienga.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr., with Rev. James Evenhouse and Rev. Mark Bennink officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mel Trotter Ministries.
