Gerald Zaagman

Gerald Eugene Zaagman Jr., age 62, of Hastings, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Jana Zaagman; mom, Diane Zaagman; siblings, Char Oosterhoff and Terene (Dave) Peterman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy (Norma) Salmon, Randy (Laurie) Salmon, Ron (LaRaine) Salmon, Gary (Kathy) Salmon, Brian (Kelly) Salmon, Brenda (Gary) Bouwens; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and little buddy, Hunter. He was preceded in death by his dad, Gerald Zaagman Sr; father-in-law and mother-in-law, LaVerne and Virginia Salmon; and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Salmon and Vicki Longoria. He loved fishing and boating, especially pulling the kids on tubes, and bowling and was a multi ABT Champion. He also enjoyed going to the casino and the beach, having a good beer, and spending time with his cats. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 3, from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Barry County Animal Shelter.
