He was a WW2 Veteran who served in the Philippines.  He was an employee of the Michigan State Department of Highway and Transportation, from which he retired in 1980.  He was a longtime active member of Wyoming Park Gospel Fellowship Church.  He enjoyed his family, church, friends, occupation, golfing, gardening, yard work, and working through jigsaw puzzles.  He was very patriotic, highly interested in the affairs of his country, thankful for its beauty and the freedoms we have.  He is survived and will be sadly missed, but dearly remembered by Maxine, his loving wife of 75 years; four wonderful children, Barbara and Ken Rickett, Dick and Chris (Godisak) Terpstra, Jim and Jan (Dykstra) Terpstra, Loretta Terpstra. Also, surviving him are 7 grandchildren, Marcy and Matt Kuhns (5 great grandchildren), Cheri and Craig Searer (2 great grandchildren), Brian and Diana Bishop (2 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild), Luke Terpstra, Darren and Jessica (Terpstra) Rehfeld, Mark and Kendra Terpstra (3 great grandchildren), Kyle and Kim Terpstra (1 great grandchild).  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Terpstra; 1 brother and 3 sisters.  Burial has taken place at Grandville Cemetery.  A celebration of his life will be a private gathering of family.  Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice, to whom we are eternally grateful for their loving care, Wyoming Park Bible Fellowship Church, or the Children’s Bible Club Ministry of Jenison.
