Gerald Schaaf

Gerald Schaaf, age 91, of Hudsonville, formerly of Cadillac, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. He was born to Klaas and Jennie (Hinken) Schaaf on October 8, 1924. Gerald married Eleanor Stilwell on October 25, 1949. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Stilwell) Schaaf on April 21, 2014. Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Army and was employed by Consumers Energy for most of his adult life. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Diana and Jim Keen; grandchildren, Beverly and Kris Burkholder, Timothy and Angie Keen, Merry and Scott McKeown, Pamela Keen; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Stilwell; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 1 at 11 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Interment Prosper Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday, February 1 from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
