Gerald Hansen, age 83, of Grandville, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and car racing. He retired from General Motors after 20 years. Jerry and his wife, Nancy, were members of Resurrection Life Church. He enjoyed daily trips to the XD Fitness Gym as well as Marge’s Donut Den where he made many friendships over the years. He will be greatly missed for his warm smile, genuine kindness, and his humor. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dagmar Hansen; brothers, Robert Hansen, Richard Hansen and sister, Eleanor Sees. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Nancy; siblings, David Hansen, and Sharon Hansen; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Pat Binish officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 1-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
