Gerald Richard Dykstra, age 87, of Allendale, born May 11, 1933 died on Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Geraldine Martinie; grandson, Justin; son-in-law, Mike Croff; and siblings, Enoch and Wilbur. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Phyllis; daughters, Maryann Dykstra, Lonette Croff, Sue and Jim Modderman; son-in-law, Craig Martinie; brothers and sisters, Mamie Teske, Alice Cook, Donna Magennis, Karl and Linda Dykstra, Gerda Systsma, Shirley and Douglas Zwyhuizen, John Dykstra, Dave and Gloria Dykstra, Helen and Ted Broene, Virginia and Roger Dykhuis, Linda and Alvin Longuliere, Louise and Paul Bronner; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Matt Pelt. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. An open house will be held from 2-4 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Lighthouse Community Church, 7624 Lake Michigan Drive, Allendale, MI, with a luncheon held from 4-5 pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Elara Caring Hospice.
